At the end of the 20th century, diamond segments took root in China. In the early days, granulated technology was used to process diamond segments, but soon after, it was discovered that granulated segments had several
disadvantages:

1: The segment is very prone to overheating. Mainly due to the large width of the large saw blade segment, it is difficult to take into account the cooling water in the middle part. In the long-term cutting process, once the cooling water is reduced or unstable, it is easy to cause the segment to overheat and cause deformation or unstable performance of the segment.

2: The chip removal of the segment is almost impossible to complete. Especially in the process of cutting stones with large quartz particles, the quartz particles fall on the cutting surface, resulting in multiple cuts, which undoubtedly results in a large number of useless cuts. Therefore, chip removal is very important to improve the cutting life of the segment and the service life of the saw blade base.

3: The pelletizing segment uses more diamond, which increases the material cost. Because of such a segment, the cutting surface is too large, resulting in waste of diamond material.

4: Cutting efficiency is not high. Because the grinding surface is too large, in the normal cutting process, the larger the force area is, the lower the grinding depth is, and the natural cutting depth is also reduced to a certain extent.

Because the grinding surface is too large, in the normal cutting process, the larger the force area is, the lower the grinding depth is, and the natural cutting depth is also reduced to a certain extent. For the above reasons, people began to use the cold pressing process to make the segment. The first thing that was researched was the sandwich structure of the segment. This segment divides the diamond segment into a working layer on the left and right sides and a non-working layer in the middle layer, and the whole segment forms a sandwich structure. So how does such a sandwich segment operate? 刀头,三明治刀头 1: In the process of cold pressing, the powder mixed with diamond and metal matrix bond is used for the working layer, and part of the diamond matrix bond without diamond is directly used for the non-working layer. 2: In the process of moulding, two pieces of cold-pressed working layer solid block to be sintered are used on the outside of the segment, and a layer of non-working layer to be sintered is placed in the middle. 3: In actual work, the agglomeration in the middle part will be quickly consumed because there is no diamond, forming a naturally formed groove, so that the chip can be quickly removed and cooled. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of this sandwich segment and later sandwich segments? 1: Sandwich segments have a longer life, but the cutting efficiency is not as good as sandwich segments. Mainly because the cross section of the sandwich segment is too wide during the cutting process. 2: The stability of the sandwich segment is high, and the layer segment is often deformed due to excessive pressure. Therefore, when cutting stones with unknown hardness, it is recommended to use sandwich segments for pre-cutting. 3: The sandwich segment process is relatively simple. The tableting time and the molding time are shorter, so the production efficiency will be faster, while the layer segment will be more labor-intensive and time-consuming. Sandwich segment is a relatively common segment structure. Linxing Diamond Tools specializes in the production of diamond segments and other stone cutting tools.
